Abstract

Human Resource (HR) strategies have emerged as a critical factor in enhancing employee commitment and ensuring organizational success in today's competitive business environment. The present study titled “Effectiveness of Human Resource Strategies in Building Organisational Commitment: Insights from Karnataka Manufacturing Companies” examines the influence of HR strategies on organisational commitment among employees working in manufacturing companies in Karnataka. The study aims to identify the HR practices adopted by manufacturing organizations, assess employees' commitment levels, and analyze the relationship between HR strategies and organisational commitment.

The study adopted a descriptive research design and utilized both primary and secondary sources of data. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 200 respondents comprising 160 employees and 40 management personnel selected from manufacturing companies in Karnataka. The collected data were analyzed using Percentage Analysis, Mean Score Analysis, Reliability Analysis, Correlation Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, and Chi-Square Test.

The findings revealed that Training and Development emerged as the most effective HR strategy, followed by Employee Welfare Measures and Career Development opportunities. The study found that 59% of respondents exhibited high organisational commitment. Correlation analysis indicated a strong positive relationship between HR strategies and organisational commitment (r = 0.742). Regression analysis revealed that HR strategies explained 64.2% of the variation in organisational commitment, with Training and Development identified as the strongest predictor. The study also established a significant association between employees' designation and organisational commitment. The study concludes that effective HR strategies significantly contribute to employee commitment, retention, and organizational performance. Manufacturing companies should focus on employee development, welfare, participation, and career advancement to foster a highly committed workforce and achieve sustainable organizational growth.
