Abstract

The Indian stock market has emerged as one of the fastest-growing financial markets globally, attracting a diverse range of investors. Investors' perceptions and behavioral patterns significantly influence investment decisions, market movements, and overall economic development. This study examines the perception and behavior of investors towards the Indian stock market, focusing on factors such as risk tolerance, investment objectives, information sources, market awareness, and demographic influences. The research adopts a descriptive and analytical approach using secondary data from published reports, journals, and market surveys. The findings reveal that investor behavior is influenced by psychological, economic, and social factors, with increasing participation driven by digital platforms and financial literacy initiatives. The study contributes to understanding investor psychology and provides recommendations for policymakers, financial institutions, and investors.
