Abstract

The rapid growth of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has transformed traditional cities into smart cities by enabling intelligent communication between devices. Smart city applications such as traffic management, smart lighting, waste management, environmental monitoring, and healthcare rely on efficient IoT networks. Evaluating the performance of these networks is essential to ensure reliability and scalability. This project uses the NS3 simulator to analyze the performance of IoT communication in smart city environments. Parameters such as throughput, packet delivery ratio, delay, and energy consumption are evaluated. The simulation results help identify network efficiency and optimize IoT deployment in smart cities.
