Abstract

International sanctions are increasingly used as economic and political instruments to influence countries, organizations, and individuals. Their effects can extend beyond targeted entities by disrupting trade, investment, banking, exchange rates, commodity prices, and financial markets. This study examines the impact of international sanctions on financial markets with reference to India, focusing on stock markets, foreign exchange, banking operations, foreign investment, commodity prices, and investor confidence. It also evaluates government and regulatory measures supporting financial stability. Primary and secondary data are considered. The study highlights India's resilience and recommends diversified trade, stronger risk management, regulatory oversight, digital infrastructure, and financial strategies.
