Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative force in Human Resource Management (HRM), enabling organizations to improve efficiency, reduce routine workload, and enhance strategic decision-making. This study examines the adoption of AI in HR practices with special emphasis on opportunities and challenges faced by modern organizations. The objectives of the study are to analyze the level of AI usage in recruitment, training, performance appraisal, employee engagement, and administrative HR functions; to identify organizational benefits; and to assess barriers affecting successful implementation. A descriptive research design was adopted using both primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires from employees and HR professionals, while secondary data were obtained from journals, reports, and company publications. The findings indicate that AI significantly improves recruitment speed, resume screening accuracy, employee query handling, and data-driven workforce planning. However, organizations also face concerns regarding data privacy, algorithmic bias, employee resistance, lack of technical skills, and high implementation cost. The study concludes that AI should complement rather than replace human judgment in HR decisions. Proper governance, ethical standards, employee training, and transparent implementation strategies are essential for sustainable AI adoption. The research provides practical insights for organizations seeking to modernize HR systems while maintaining fairness and employee trust.
