Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopment condition characterized by challenges in communication, social interaction, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests. Over the past decade, rapid advancements in technology and innovation have transformed intervention strategies for individuals with ASD. Technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), mobile applications, wearable devices, robotics, and assistive communication systems have emerged as effective tools for improving cognitive, behavioral, social, and communication skills among individuals with ASD. This literature review examines recent studies and technological developments in ASD intervention, highlighting their effectiveness, advantages, limitations, and future prospects. The review emphasizes that technology-based interventions provide personalized, engaging, and scalable solutions that complement traditional therapeutic approaches. However, challenges such as accessibility, cost, ethical concerns, and lack of long-term evidence remain significant barriers. The study concludes that interdisciplinary collaboration among educators, therapists, researchers, technologists, and policymakers is essential to maximize the benefits of technological innovation in ASD intervention.
