Abstract

Financial markets are vital to India’s economic development because they mobilize savings, allocate capital, facilitate investment, provide liquidity, and support financial stability. This study examines the role of financial markets in economic development in India, focusing on capital formation, investment, financial inclusion, financial institutions, regulation, technology, foreign investment, employment, and sustainable growth. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 100 respondents, while secondary information was obtained from financial publications and official sources. Percentage analysis was used to interpret responses. The findings indicate that financial markets positively support savings, capital formation, investment, inclusion, employment, and overall economic growth.
