Abstract

Intheever-changingworldoffinance,theyoungergenerationof professionalsfindsitself  havingtodealwithcomplicatedmattersrelatedtofinancialmanagement,saving,investment,andplanningfortheirfuture.Althoughtheimportance offinancial literacy in making decisions regarding finances has beenwell-established, thereisevidencethatfinancialliteracyalonedoesnotguaranteeeffective financial planning. The purpose ofthisstudy is to analysethefinancialplanningbehaviourofyoungprofessionalsthroughaholisticexaminationoffinancialliteracy, behaviouralaspects,andfinancialdiscipline.Itisshown howthere exists a disconnectbetween financial literacy and financial decision-makingbehaviour andthatthekey lies inthe intentions and discipline ofindividualswhenmaking financial decisions.
