Abstract

The increasing adoption of artificial intelligence in everyday applications has created opportunities to improve access to pet-care information and support pet owners in making informed decisions about animal health and well-being. This paper presents PawSense AI, an AI-powered pet-care assistance system designed to provide accessible, interactive, and personalized support to pet owners through a web-based platform. The proposed system integrates generative artificial intelligence, image-based pet assessment, voice interaction, and location-based veterinary search within a unified interface. Users can interact with the system through natural-language queries, upload pet images for preliminary AI-assisted observations, and access information about nearby veterinary facilities. The application incorporates user authentication and database-supported conversation management to maintain individual accounts and chat histories.

Voice transcription and multilingual response options further aim to improve accessibility and ease of interaction. The system is developed using Python and the Flask web framework, with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the user interface, database technologies for information management, and external AI and mapping services for intelligent responses and location-based information. PawSense AI is intended to complement existing pet-care resources by providing convenient access to general guidance and helping users identify relevant veterinary services. However, AI-generated observations are not a substitute for professional veterinary diagnosis, and the reliability of the system depends on the underlying AI models, external services, and input quality. The proposed platform demonstrates an integrated approach to AI-assisted pet-care information access, with potential for further development through systematic evaluation, improved personalization, and expanded multilingual capabilities.
