Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce has significantly transformed consumer purchasing behaviour, making logistics performance a crucial factor in shaping online buying decisions. This study examines the role of last mile delivery speed in influencing online purchase decisions, with particular focus on how delivery speed, reliability, transparency, and convenience impact consumer behaviour. Using a descriptive research design, primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire from 170 respondents using convenience sampling. Statistical tools including percentage analysis, chi-square tests, and factor analysis were applied using SPSS. The findings reveal that delivery speed significantly influences customer satisfaction, trust, and preference for online platforms. Customers prefer platforms offering transparent delivery information and faster delivery options such as same-day or next-day delivery. Long delivery times discourage purchase decisions while quicker delivery enhances repeat purchase likelihood. However, willingness to pay a premium for faster delivery remains moderate. The study concludes that last-mile delivery speed is a critical factor influencing online purchase decisions, and businesses investing in efficient delivery systems can enhance customer experience, build trust, and gain competitive advantage.
