Abstract

Site Catchment Analysis (SCA) is an important methodological approach in archaeology that seeks to examine the dynamic relationship between human settlements and the natural resources available within their surrounding economic territory. [1]The basic assumption of this approach is that human communities select settlement locations based on their ability to access and manage essential resources necessary for survival, economic activities, and long-term sustainability. By analyzing the spatial relationship between archaeological sites and their surrounding landscapes, site catchment analysis helps reconstruct patterns of resource exploitation, subsistence strategies, and environmental adaptation.[2]
