This study will explore the impact of sustainable business operation on performance and focus on the impact of ESG on organizational performance. Due to the new demands of corporate social responsibility, more firms have adopted sustainable business operation starting from efficient production to ethical supply chain management and so forth to ensure the well-being of their employees and proper management. Based on the existing literature, the current study intends to explore the level of the impacts of the above-mentioned practices on the performance of the firm in terms of profit, efficiency, reputation among customers and competitive advantage. It is revealed from the results of this paper that despite the high costs incurred during the process of adoption of sustainable business operation, the long-run impacts include cost efficiency, risk reduction, attracting money, and legitimacy of the firm.[1] It is important to point out that the relationship does not hold good for all the sectors and industries, as there are cases where the smaller organizations lack the required resources to make sure that the direct benefits are gained out of the adoption of the sustainable practices. It is an important contribution made by the research to the body of knowledge on corporate sustainability, as it highlights the strategic importance of sustainable practices.
